I wonder if anyone can help me out with a dilemma I have? Like most people I have flirted first with the CIO, and then the charity company, and like most people found a lack of flexibility and a lack of control with both models. I have therefore come to the conclusion that the best model could be a CIC, however....shares or guarantee?
My charity would provide financial support for medical research, so it would need to obtain grants, both from local and national bodies, so a CIC guarantee model may be best? But our directors would need to receive a salary, I would also like investors to make contributions to the research and gain financially from doing so, perhaps a CIC shares model may be best?
Also the ability to purchase equipment, and buildings as time goes by. If new drugs and cures are developed from research undertaken by the CIC, the local community as well as investors and companies would benefit and profit.
Guarantee or shares...which to choose? Thank you.
