Is it absolutely necessary for a CIC that puts on outdoor events and employs people on freelance contracts to have insurance for the company?
Myself and two other directors have a CIC and wish to slightly changes its aims to allow us to carry out additional but very similar activities for the community. Do we need to notify the regulators office to be able to make changes? I can't get a reply or a call back from them when I try. Thanks.

At the moment I am the sole director for both company limited by guarantee reg'd through companies house and the CIC. In order to go for funding I need to add 2 unrelated directors to the board of directors. If you were looking for Calm Minds Insurance CIC or had any business with them, I have just noticed that they were struck off on 9th January 2014 after the Second Notification Of Strike-off Action In the London Gazette.
