CIC Association

Serving Community Enterprise

Following a meeting with John Mulkerrin last week, I thought I would blog my thoughts around the meeting and what I can offer my fellow CIC members.

We set up in December as a new venture and a CIC. Becoming a CIC was an obvious way of setting out our values and ethical stance. We have been working with a number of insurers to offer a scheme for CICs. I am pleased to announce that we have a facility with one of the world's largest insurers offering Liability Insurance, Professional Indemnity, Property Insurance and the usual commercial risks (not motor yet). We are also very close to finalising a scheme for medical malpractice cover. We believe that the premiums on offer are competitive, the cover wide and appropriate and we plant a tree for each policy sold.

We will be working closely with John on bespoke schemes and arrangements, including policies to meet the needs of PCTs and Local Authorities. In the future we may well look to become more involved with the association and form some formal alliances. I am open to hear from the members on how best they could be served in this area.

Best wishes

Jonathan Lloyd
