CIC-KDM-Survey.pdf

Here's the baseline survey from last year. We'll be sending out a 2010 version shortly and would welcome any input on what you might like to see included. Most interested to hear from academics and researchers, we intend to integrate with other data sets to upgrade our online functionality. Specifically interested in hearing any comments on which categorisations would be useful. Mike Veitch of helpful helpdesk CIC is leading on this and we'll have a more detailed update shortly.

Best regards

John

John - Is there a way of including a social ROI question in here, e.g. Do you think your CIC gives a Social ROI return to its stakeholders/users?

Other than that, it is pretty comprehensive and over the coming years, can become a benchmark measure.

hi John - this looks great; obvioulsy generating far richer data than the early CIC curveys that the CIC regulator undertook;

only comment I'd make is around the social impact - specifically, given the interest in, and evolution of, various quality assurance and social accounting models and toolkits/frameworks, it'd be interesting to know what methods CICs are using to understand and report on their social (and other) impacts.
(with my researcher head on)

Hi Nick absolutely as you know Partners for Social Enterprise here in the three counties of Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Shropshire are asking the same. Equally why a Ludlow, Leominster and Tenbury Wi Fi project, funded by public money was not set up as a Social Enterprise! a CIC with the asset lock. Will the dismantling of the RDA pass on assets to local communities? time will tell!

It would be good to have somethng about LEP's and how involved CIC's were in their formation and what impact they hope/fear their development may have on them.
