Has anybody used a stipend rather than a salary to remunerate a C.I.C. director? I currently work in an almost entirely voluntary capacity as the executive director of our C.I.C. but the C.I.C. is looking at some compensation. However, an affordable salary would be very small and not cover the hours that I actually do. Would it be possible to set up a stipend instead and has anyone done this? Any advice gratefully received!
What's the reason you are thinking of a stipend. Is it tax? I'd suggest you simply get paid a lower salary. A stipend can be subject to tax so you will need to discuss this with a qualified accountant.
