Dear Mr Hemingway
Your email addressed to Rosie Winterton Regional Minister for Yorkshire and the Humber has been passed to this office for reply.
As you say, Yorkshire Forward, together with Business Link launched a voucher scheme in January 2009 to encourage small to medium sized businesses (SMEs) to use academic support to help with the development of new and improved products and services in the face of current economic challenges.
The scheme involves a three year pilot project in which SMEs in Yorkshire and Humber can apply for vouchers worth up to £3000 which can be used to purchase academic support from one of the registered innovation voucher knowledge providers. .
I understand that fifty innovation vouchers are available to eligible SMEs every month in the Yorkshire and Humber region. The monthly deadline for applications to be received for voucher allocation, together with further information is available on the website www.businesslink.gov.uk/yorkshire/innovation
I am pleased to be able to inform you that the scheme is therefore ongoing and although you missed the March deadline you will be able to resubmit your application on 17 April or failing that 15 May.
Should you require any further information, Nikki Michelsberg, the Project Manager at Yorkshire Forward would be happy to speak to you.
