My CIC works closely with the town council. The town councillors are trustees of the local community hall, which is a charity and managed by a management committee who have ultimate say in how the hall is managed and what happens inside and out. The committee includes all members of the town council which ensures a continuity of personnel over the years. Some members of the CIC are management committee members but as individuals in their own right.
The hall committee are now asking the CIC to consider taking over the strategic management of the hall. We are not sure if the Charity Commissioners will allow this, but wonder if any other CIC has involvement with a charitable trust like this and how they liaise or influence how it is run?
