We provide courses to vulnerable young people, there is a bursary for the course but our contract won't be paid for thirty days. As a small organisation we can't bank roll costs for students. I need a grant about £2000 but need to turn ii around in a week, any ideas?
So I started the company one year ago and it has been incredible. Gone very well. Starting from nothing, literally and end of year was £57,000 with outgoings less. However the organisation has reached that point where it's expand or keep going the way it is. Obviously I want to expand and have some really great contracts on the door steps. Plus the opportunity to move into a new premises that would catapult the organisation into a different world, it would put it up there with…Continue

We have been shortlisted in Britain's biggest small business competition and with your help, could be awarded an investment of up to £275,000.

We have a CIC which works with children and young people with emotional wellbeing/mental health issues. I set up a CIC initially rather than a charity as wasn't able to work into it if it was a charity and I needed to at that time to develop it. The difficulty we have is that we would like to do some fund raising to be able to offer the children that 'bit extra' which we are not able to use our current funding for - e.g. Christmas party, refreshments, days out/travel…Continue

The current funding climate is precarious even for the most innovative ideas and projects, so I ask is it always advisable as CIC to start with a loan when starting out in business? are there investors who supports Black Ethnic Minority in Business?? which are the best loan funders? are there really government funding?

I am part of a small group starting on the process of becoming a CIC. There seems to be a lot of helpful advice from the CIC regulator as well as forms to download and complete. We are satisfied that setting up a CIC limited by guarantee is the route to go down, however, at what stage have others involved legal advice and how much can one expect to pay?
