As a business owner you have to make sure you are in control of your finances on a day to day basis, It is no good to wait untill the end of your fianacial year and wait for your accountant to tell you how well your business performed. .

I can imagine the headline may raise a few eyebrows, but with the VAT increase happening today I thought it made sense to raise the issue again and test the validity of such a statement. The legislation is open to any individuals/types of organisation to use to tackle particular issues, but organising information thats useful to particular stakeholder groups such as Charities must surely be encouraged, especially in these challenging times.

Just a small point. In Scotland it might be useful to distinguish the locations/regions of CICs by two choices. The first would be Highlands & Islands and the second would be Scotland other. This would reflect the national enterprise development agency set up in Scotland (there are two bodies; HIE and SE) which might be useful in determining policy and practical support or potential support in the future

There are currently warnings being posted that the Bribery Act 2010 could apply to charities and that there could be issues to consider when the Act comes in to force in April 2011.
The Act was orginally aimed at big business.

Hi Everyone, I need help/info. I am coming up to my first year end accounts and realise I dont know what is needed for CIC accounts. Do they need to be audited? etc etc Could someone clue me in to what I need to be doing please, rather than spend a fortune on finding out this info.
