Welcome to the online forum of the new CIC Association. With your support and involvement we hope to become a focal point to develop the agenda, share information and realise the potential that is latent in what is the first new company legislation for close to 150 years.
The impetus for the Association has come from CICs wanting a way to directly engage in the agenda, from a defined perspective. From general awareness and communication issues thru to technical matters such as…

I hope to receive an endorsement of support for what we’re trying to achieve, as Minister for the Cabinet Office your engagement would help us raise awareness of need amongst the existing support structures, and give a clear indication that the Legislation is valued and understood at the highest levels of Government. I…

I've been working with social enterprises for quite a few years, in fact before the term 'social enterprise' was even used. We talked about community businesses and sometimes about social firms. There's so much now about social enterprises and a great a deal of debate. But I do like the term 'social enterprise' and I personally hope its kept a broad descriptor of organisations that trade for a social purpose. There's space to be indulgent on a social networking site, so allow me a little. The current economic collapse has been a long time coming.
