Thank you for your welcome, John.

I look forward to making use of information and building links with fellow members. I'm soon to take up a new role as Learning Manager for Cornwall School for Social Entrepreneurs, which I'm sure will have some mutually beneficial links to The Fluent Self CIC.

Currently we are trying to setup a Nursery and Primary school in the community which help bridge the gap between the communities and clear the confusion about the religious and social values.
this School will be funded by the community donations. We are thinking of converting our Ltd company to CIC but don't want to get in a hassle of Assets lock.
Will it be a right idea? we got following concerns.
1. We don't want to be paying tax on donations coming in the Ltd company.
2. We don't want to get our Assets locked.

I will appreciate any help

Hi John
Thank you for the welcome.

My compnay delivers vocational training to 14 - 16 year olds. We train them in the main construction trades and organise projects in the community for them to develop the skills they have learned while helping their local communities.

I am hoping to link up with anyone who can help me further develop my company to help those groups within the community at most need to find jobs etc.

Best regards

That's great, I will let you know when we have a date for the next awareness raising event and perhaps we can see if it's useful to build in a CIC speficic section. Have only just started shaping it so things aren't that far down the line yet. Will be in touch. Thanks for your comment.

many thanks for the welcome. Part of my work focuses on PFI projects in the UK and we are currently considering how to structure a project to include a CIC or other community orientated vehicle within the corporate structure.

Best regards,

Hi John,

Thanks for your welcome. I'm afraid it's more a case
of what I can learn from the site at the moment than
what I can bring to it, but hopefully, in time, that will
change. I'm really looking forward to joining some of
the groups and discussions. Thanks again Tony.

Like Alison I am still at the 'learning' stage re accessing funding. Is there any start-up money out there?

Hi John, Thanks for the welcome. Unfortunately I had no internet yesterday so missed the webcast, I look forward to reading the powerpoints on the site. The last year has been frenetic and the next month is fairly busy, but I hope that after that I have some time available to get more involved,
best wishes,

Hi John
Thanks for your message.
I'm just looking into CICs and am trying to find out about pitfalls/advantages. Got to decide whether I go down the route of CIC or limited company
