Hi all
Just new to this and thinking of converting my new learning & development ltd company to a cic. I'm based around Glasgow and Ayrshire with links in London, and would like to hook up with like minded people - either practitioners running workshops in personal/professional development, or anyone looking to develop their skills, their team's skills, etc; or anyone with some experience of linking trainers like me through community ventures to funders!
Just interested in what social enterprises are around in this part of the country generally too!
Hi, We look forward to becoming involved in 2014 in the meantime our website www.respitenow.org.uk gives a flavor of who we are and what we do.
Merry Xmas,
Jim Withers
Awesome Trevor, a really good article and something positive to build on.
We just got featured on BBC Reporting Scotland.

This is one linked project we are running: We are working on very similar lines, maybe we should be talking and sharing ideas?
See this link: this small-scale shea charity was set up by my neighbour and friend Suleman (on my photo above) and his wife, Helen.

The Lloyds TSB Foundation for Scotland awarded our charity £11,450 to improve sheanut butter production in the village Pulima in northern Ghana. During May 2009 we provided equipment for the mechanical extraction of the butter increasing the output, saving the women manual energy and reducing the amount of firewood required (see our gallery below).
So, if you are looking for some high quality product, it isnt far.
Ah, not far off. Brilliant people to work with, so friendly. Some nice bumpy roads in that part of the world, aren't there? They make some great straw hats in that part of the world too, ever considered importing them as a sideline?
Here's alink to our promo brochure
Rob, sorry for the long silence, but been having issues with my computer.... Tumu is in the Upper west and we are in the Upper East in the Builsa district. The nearest town is Sandema.
It would be good to find out more about what you're doing in Tumu.
