Hi folks just joined CIC thought I'd say I. I'm working with Penwith Radio CIC in Penzance, Cornwall and looking to set up a coaching/wellbeing CIC with a small group of therapists and coaches.
Nice to meet you all (in the virtual sense of the word)
Alan
one of my clients in Somerset is already running a similar scheme of providing solar panels for schools etc
Hi Cecile,
We moved to the South West in the Forest of Dean 5 years ago. By this time, our 'profit for purpose' approach had been established since 2004 in the UK when we were interviewed about preceding work in Russia to leverage a micro enterprise development initiative.
In May 2004 a working model of P-CED and its first social product, a community interest broadband proposal published.
This time 5 years ago we were heavily embroiled in overseas efforts where we took on the human rights issue of children abandoned to state care and set about proposing potential social enterprise solutions.
The microeconomic 'Marshall Plan' strategy was delivered later that year and 5 years on, the impact may be observed in the report RBS requested for the SE100 index.
We'd begun in 1996 with a paper proposing a sustainable economic paradigm as an alternative to laissez faire capitalism. Our work in sustainability includes presentations for the Economics for Ecology conferences in Sumy.
Locally, we seem to be placed in the land that social enterprise forgot and we're still pursuing the aim of a community sustainability initiative in the Forest.
Regards,
Jeff
