Serving Community Enterprise

Fantastic news! - Horses Helping People CIC in Buckinghamshire have won through to the final round of ITV's The People's Millions, where worthy projects compete for public votes to win a cash donation of £50,000 from the National Lottery Big Lottery Fund.

Our therapeutic horsemanship centre is hoping to secure the money to fund the 'Neigh Team' project, where volunteers from the veteran and homeless communities will come to Sunrise Farm through 2014 to build a mile long sensory nature trail with conservation habitats, create a vegetable garden AND help train horses for driving and agricultural work around the farm. The facilities will create a legacy to be enjoyed by our regular and future clients (children and adults with special needs and from disadvantaged backgrounds) providing a tranquil green setting to improve physical health and mental wellbeing while
learning new skills.

Horses Helping People now needs your support. We don't get the telephone number until the day of the vote (November 27th), but the campaign to raise awareness starts now! Please visit our webpage

to pledge your support so we can let you know the phone number on voting day.

And the good news is.....we won £50,000!

We got the bonus award (best runner up) which still meant we got the full amount of money we applied for. This was our first attempt at Lottery funding, so it was very exciting to win.

Thanks to everyone who voted!
