Some agencies want three signatories for funding apps

Hi everyone. We do arts and media projects for social benefit and need to apply for funding in some instances. Some agencies want three signatories: we have two but don't know who we could nominate for a third. Does it need to be another director, secretary, member or a non-executive director? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Rick. I have been working in London the last few days and have just returned.  It looks like one of my team (Ann) has already responded and will be getting back to you regarding your request for a link to the forms.  Glad to have been of help.

Hi Phil. We are now looking to engage with a non-exec director who has been involved with and aware of our work for some 14 years (even before we set up the CIC). We wondered if you had any advice on the best way to do this. Many thanks in anticipation.

I have plenty of those so no worry - I'll keep the CIC Regulator's Office details on file - thank you. Regards, Rick

Nick - If you have any general queries at any time, feel free to drop us a line at the CIC Regulator's Office.  We are a friendly bunch - honest!

Thanks Phillip - really helpful reply. We have opted for a non-executive director for a variety of reasons, not just as a signatory.

Hi Rick. It is always a good idea to consult the funding body regarding their specific requirements.  Many CICs opt for a non-executive director to meet the 3rd signatory requirements and ensure that control of the CIC remains with the original directors.  Alternatively the funders may be happy for the 3rd signatory to be secretary or member, although all signatories need to be aware of the responsibility vested in such duties.  Regards   Phil
