Which funders for school-based counselling?

I am currently converting my school-based counselling and training company (in Cornwall) into a Social Enterprise but unsure where to look for funding/grants. I’d greatly appreciate hearing from other people’s knowledge and experience

Background:  More children, teenagers and staff need counselling support than ever before and my view is that the way forward is to root counselling support in schools for easy access and effective systemic work. However, schools just don't have a separate budget for this and so the impact and reach of what I've been able to achieve in 4 local schools as a Limited Company has been restricted by £ / time, plus new business constantly needing to be re-generated. Obtaining sustainable funding to match-fund school £ input, seems to be the key to establishing a service with enough counsellor time in school to provide wider access and make a real difference. One company successfully doing this in another part of the UK, The Place2Be, is a charity, but for many reasons, becoming a CIC seems to be the best fit for me.

However, so far my attempts to find the right funders have hit a brick wall. E.g. Children in Need make it clear that they don’t fund school-based counselling because it's in school time and therefore “schools / the Govt / tax-payer should”… But they can’t!  So any comments, ideas or suggestions about potential funders or grant-awarding bodies would be most welcome.

It’s so good to have discovered the CIC Association and no longer feel that I’m battling alone!

Thank you for your time.
