Support Young Talent in the North East of England
Community Interest Companies in North East England have the opportunity to use their votes to support Young Talent in the North East of England. For that reason FReSH CIC is lending it’s support to the Ambition AXA Awards which have been launched to find very talented 11 to 18-year-olds who deserve the opportunity to shine. We would love you to join us – it’s free and only takes a minute.
We are down to the last 5 in each category in the competition and there are 3 young people from the North East left. Whether they progress to the last 3 and the final in the House of Commons at the end of November is down to an X-Factor style public vote. The voting closes on Monday 7th November at Midnight – so you have all of Monday for you and your colleagues to vote and to get some support through friends on Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, etc. You can record one vote each for the North East youngsters, more information is available through the links below or just click on the link next to each of the young people -this gives you direct to access their voting page on the AXA site

‘It can be tricky to reach your true potential. But imagine what could happen if you could work with someone who’s already reached the top of their field or shown great commitment to causes they care about.
That’s why AXA has launched these awards. We want to give exceptional young people the opportunity to develop their skills and win an amazing experience that could change their life’.
The competition winners could win a bespoke mentoring prize designed specifically for them from someone who is already a leader in the arts, science, enterprise, sport and community involvement.
The three young people below have achieved a great deal to get this far, they are each in the last 5 of their category, the public vote which runs through to Monday 7th of November, will decide who gets in to the last 3 and goes forward to the final judging at the end of November
Vote for the Young Talent from the North East – it only takes a minute – you can cast one vote for each of the North East’s talented youngsters@

Thanks for your Support

Hi David, good to hear from you!
With regard to your mother, I would say it's best if at all possible to remain with the family for as long as possible. Your mum is very fortunate - not many have these kind of resources and support. If or when she has to go into care (and it's not always inevitable), then choose a home with lots going on!
One thing I've observed over 4 years and lots of experience in this area is that even people with severe dementia have long-time recall and can still actively participate in social events! They continue to amaze me and can remember all the words to their favourite songs for example. One aspect of our work is creating life-history films for individuals in care, to help them restore and maintain a sense of their individuality in this increasingly institutionalised environment. However caring they are, this individuality can sometimes be lost.
We travel very widely - up to London and further - but not as far as the North, yet anyway! I am sure the time will come when we do though.
Thank you for your kind words of support; I may just take you up on the accountant thing. Our accountant really fluffed up our first-year returns. He is a lovely man - but unfortunately tripped-up with the community statement and didn't submit it on the right form, which meant we got a fine! Still, he's now reduced his substantial bill which is something!
Talk soon.
Terri Hills. Moondancer CIC.
Perhaps it would be best to make contact after we've got through our current bid process. This week and next week is totally full with appointments and deadlines. Unfortunately all of my time is dedicated to this cause at present, I would like to think that I can start to plan and live again after next week. Thats presuming we get a successful outcome.
As I mentioned in my last reply, could you use my direct email david.cox@humantics.co.uk this is much better for me as I don't go into the CIC assoc website too often.
Sorry about the delay, but the whole of our future plans are relying on this current process.
Best regards
David
Sorry I have been totally absorbed in our present bid application and have been wrapped up in numerous scrutiny reviews. I must be honest I hadn't opened the CIC Association page since I last replied.
Perhaps it would be better for us to communicate direct to our own email adresses: mine is david.cox@humantics.co.uk
Sorry, I am not available to meet this week, but hopefully we could make arrangements for the following week if this is ok with you.
Look forward to hearing from you.
All the best
David
Good to hear from you.
Perhaps we should arrange to meet to discuss areas of common ground, particularly the setting up of a CIC. As you are aware I am in Darlington and have been very actively involved in establishing a CIC project here.
Recently we have become involved in the development of the CIC Association and are currently in the process of establishing a Northern regional office for the CIC Association.
Let me know if you would like to arrange a date to get together, I'm sure we would have plenty to discuss.
Best regards
David Cox - Humantics CIC, Darlington, Co Durham.
